TrapSTAR's & DJ KG's THE MADD TRAPPER gets Rave Review

TrapSTAR & DJ Kurious George's THE MADD TRAPPER Mixtape, dropped last month on April 20th. To say the mixtape has been a success would be an understatement. With over 800 downloads and over 600 views of the "TRU 2 Dis" video, you can say its been a busy month. ShermMusic.com founder, Sherm aka @ShermLife, took the time to review the mixtape and here are his thoughts. “The Madd Trapper” // TrapStar / DJ Kurious George Reviewed by: Sherm @ShermLife Release Date April 20, 2012 The Madd Trapper mixtape opens up right after a quick intro from DJ Kurious George with a high energy track in which the SC emcee takes the time to bring new and old listeners up to speed on what's been going on with the ExtraGrind Nation General, and to reassure them all that no matter what, he's gonna “Always Be Around.” He touches on issues with management, industry relationships etc. A nice way to open up the mixtape because it sets the tone for a high energy, street banger and gives you insight into what to expect. The next track “Get Up, Get Out” is a more introspective track while a call to arms for all of those out there who struggle with the grind of day to day survival; a motivational track that rides hard. Production is noticeably perfect for the song. The hook definitely stuck in my head after the track ended. For the ladies, “Glass Of Milk 2” is one of those songs where the beat lets you know right off top that its a chick song, but one you can ride to and lean back. TrapStar floats atop the beat as he flips the comparison of a female to a computer. The dopest I've heard in recent memory. Next it rides right into “Im Cold” on which he lays down his pimp game and lets the chicks know what's up. “Poe Up” automatically makes you reach for the volume to turn it up. The beat is just like that. The flow on the beat makes you bop with it even before you start listening to what's being said. “Where I'm From” is a gritty street song, and you know it off top. Sounds like a B.G. type song. This track is undoubtedly the true hood anthem on this project. “Interstate Music” is by far the best song on the album. Not saying the other songs aren't as good, but this one is “Radio Ready” and could pop up on the radio and sound like its supposed to be there. Nothing needed from the label or the station, just play it. All three rappers ride the beat just like the interstate that they're spitting about. While the topic isn't anything prolific, this song is a beast at what its supposed to be; a song to ride to. ReUp Rio shines in his verse as he paints a visual that's pretty easy to see if you're listening. “Show Me The Money” & “Toyfriend”could definitely be getting spins this summer as well if they fall on the right ears. Another great showing from the features push them over the top. “Higher,” the song for the smokers is right on time as he spits about everyone's favorite topic...that medicinal. Re-Up provides another sweet 16 and makes it all stick like glue. The Madd Trapper rounds out with a grimey strap up and ride track called. “TRU 2 Dis” (Video available) and it really puts a tight finish on the mixtape. It's a bouncy track that will leave you waiting to see what the TrapStar and ExtraGrind Nation have to offer up next. If this is a sign of things to come it should be a good summer for the ExtraGrind Nation and their following. IF YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN TIME TO DOWNLOAD THE MADD TRAPPER, THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING ON?
